Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The melody appears in the 1770 music manuscript collection of Northumbrian musician William Vickers [1]. A nearly identical version was entered by Northumbrian musician John Bell (1783-1864) into his c. 1812 music manuscript as "I'll never gan to the dark cellar na mair."
