CACKLING OF THE HENS, THE. AKA and see "Hen's March to/o'er the Midden." English, Scottish. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This title appears in Walsh's Third Book (c. 1730) a collection of Lancashire tunes, although it is perhaps better known as "The Hen's March to the Midden."
