WAKE UP TO CAPE BRETON. Canadian, Canada, Cape Breton. E Mixolydian (‘A’ part) & E Dorian (‘B’ part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB. The tune was composed in 1992 by Cape Breton fiddler Brenda Stubbert in honor of Sydney's Oldies 950 "Wake up to Cape Breton," where radio host Jack Alexander Bonaparte (1973-2006) played music for two hours every Sunday morning. The reel has gathered some currency in modern Cape Breton sessions.
