LEATHER APRON. AKA and see "Oh How They Frisk It," "Under the Greenwood Tree." English, Air (6/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Leather Apron" is a song composed by Charles Coffey, 1731, for his opera The Devil to Pay, or The Wives Metamorphos'd. The melody was an older one, borrowed from Playford's Dancing Master of 1686 (appearing as "Under the Greenwood Tree"), where it appears in common time (altered to 6/4 in later editions).
