LARRY THE BEER DRINKER. AKA and see "Beer Drinker (The)," "Jackson's Stranger (1)," "Paddy "Go Easy"," "Wallop the Spot." Irish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The tune appears under the "Jackson's" title in turn-of-the-19th century uilleann piper O'Farrell's Pocket Companion. The melody appears as "Beer Drinker (The)" in R.M. Levey's Dance Music of Ireland, vol. 1, 1858, sans 'Larry', which was added at a later date.
