WARLOCK’S STRATHSPEY. AKA – “The Warlock(‘s)," "Peter Milne’s Strathspey.” Scottish, Strathspey. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Scottish musician Robert Lowe, this 19th century strathspey has since become popular in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. It was first recorded on a 78 RPM disc by Cape Breton fiddler Bill Lamey (Cranford). The tune was published in Joseph Lowe’s c. 1840 collection--Robert, the composer, was his son.
