DICK A DOLLIS. AKA and see "Lady Jane Stuart's Rant," "Stewart's Rant," "Stuart's Rant." Scottish, Reel. A Mixolydian (Playford): A Major (Wright). Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. The tune was published by Henry Playford in his Collection of Original Scotch-Tunes, Full of the Highland Humours, printed in London in 1700 (p. 9). It subsequently appeared, almost note for note (save in major, rather than mixolydian, mode) in Daniel Wright's Aria di Camera (London, 1727, No. 51).
