PEAR TREE HORNPIPE. Scottish, Hornpipe. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is attributed to Tyneside fiddler and composer James Hill, in Kohler’s Violin Repository (Edinburgh, 1881-1885). The Pear Tree was a pub in Tyneside (see also “Hawk (The)”, another Tyneside establishment).
