PUDDING MAGGIE. AKA - "Glenquey Reel," "Pudding Moggie." Scottish, Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest appearance of this tune in print in Robert Bremner's 1757 A Collection of Scots Reels or Country Dances (p. 50). Soon after, the tune was printed in David Rutherford's Rutherford's Compleat Collection of 200 country Dances, vol. 2 (London, 1760, p. 65, as "Pudding Moggie"). Paul Cranford notes the similarity of this tune with the strathspeys “Lady Mary Menzies Reel” and “Lucy Campbell (4)/Lucy Campbell's Strathspey.” Cape Breton musicians Kinnon and Betty Beaton recorded the reel under the title "Glenquey Reel."
