RANGER'S HORNPIPE [1]. AKA and see "Durham Rangers." English, Hornpipe. England, Yorkshire. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears to be a variant belonging to the "Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine" tune family. The tune was entered into the c. 1812 music manuscript collection of William Calvert, Leyden
