IS MAITH LE NÓRA CÍSTE (Nora Likes Cake). AKA and see "Nora with the Cake," "Nora with the Purse," "Maid at the Spinning Wheel (The)," "Wreath the Bowl." Irish, Air (6/8 time) or Single Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. O'Sullivan notes the alternate title "Nora with the purse" comes from the similarity in Gaelic of the words for 'cake' and 'purse' (ciste), which is spelled the same save for an accent mark.

Source for notated version: Noted by the Irish collector Edward Bunting from Byrne the harper in 1802.
