G Mixolydian (Roche): G Dorian (O'Neill). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Unrelated to the similarly titled "Dear Black Cow (1)/Dear Black Cow (2)" (Drimin dubh). See late 18th century uilleann piper O'Farrell's version as “Drimmin Dhoun Oge" (a phonetic rendering of the Irish Gaelic title).
