NEW YORK JIG [3], THE. AKA and see "Belle of the Kitchen (1)," "Coleraine," "Kitty of Coleraine," "Paddy's Resource (1)," "Rover (2) (The)." Irish, Jig. The "New York Jig" title for the tune stems from c. 1960's and comes from a Bobby Gardiner recording, although New York musician and researcher Don Meade believes it may derive from its inclusion in the repertoire of the the New York Ceili Band. There is some similarity in the first strain to "Pride of Slieve Aughty."
