RUGGED ROAD. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Missouri. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Silberber): AA’BB (Beissenger & McCann). The tune was in the repertoire of Missouri fiddler Lyman Enloe (1906-1997), learned (according to liner notes of his album “Now That’s a Good Tune”) from his father’s friend, fiddler Lee Carpenter (Eldon, Missouri), from whom he learned several older tunes.
