BRUSHY FORK. Old-Time, Breakdown. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody is from the playing of fiddler Kenny Sidle (b. 1931), originally from Tobosco, Licking County, central Ohio. Sidle, a 1988 NEA National Heritage Fellow in honor of his music, learned the tune from George Stevens, the blacksmith in Clay Lick, and sometimes called the tune "George Stevens" or "The Blacksmith."
