SAL'S GOT A WOODEN LEG LAID AWAY. AKA and see "Hop Light Ladies," "Hop High Ladies." American, Reel. The tune was recorded for the Library of Congress by musicologist/folklorist Vance Randolph, from Ozarks Mountains fiddlers in the early 1940's. See similarly titled song "Sal's got a Meatskin" that also has the 'floating' verse about Sal and the wooden leg.
