BILL McEVOY'S NO. 1. Irish, Reel. G Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by County Tipperary fiddler Seán Ryan (d. 1985) in honor of fiddler Bill McEvoy, a County Laois native and long-time resident of Long Island. The tune is similar to Ryan's first cousin, Paddy O'Brien's, “Nervous Man (The)," and published versions of Ryan's tune predate those of O'Brien's.
