MARTHA CAMPBELL [2]. Bluegrass, Breakdown. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A bluegrass-style variant of the old-time "Martha Campbell (1)", popularized by fiddler Orville Burns. Burns was born in Oklahoma City, but moved to Texas in his adult years. A similar version was also in the repertoire of fiddler Warren Helton (b. 1937), of whose playing Tiny Moore characterized as a 'cross between Texas and Tennessee fiddling'.
