OLD BALDY KICKIN' UP. American, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is sourced to fiddler biography:Owen Chapman (1919-2002) of Chapman's Hollow, Canada, Pike County, southeastern Kentucky. The tune sounds like it might have British origins, and at least one reviewer has noticed similarities to "Dance to Your Daddy" and "Morpeth Rant [1]. The title, if not the tune, is also reminiscent of the Kentucky tune "Hold Old Baldy While I Dance with Josie.
