CAILLEACH AN t-SÚúSA [2] (The old woman in the settle-bed). Irish, Jig (6/8 time). G Mixolydian??? Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in the mid-19th century music manuscript collection of Church of Ireland cleric [pbiography:James Goodman]] (1828-1896). Goodman, who spoke Irish and played the uilleann pipes, collected from tradition in Cork and elsewhere in Munster, and obtained tunes from manuscripts and printed sources as well. This version is labeled "the new" by Goodman to distinguish it from "Caillach an t-Súsa [1]" (the old).
