LITTLE DOG, TROTTIN' DOWN THE RIVER. AKA and see "Davy Davy," "Going Down the River." Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Missouri. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). Known as a Missouri tune, although played under several names. The Arkansas group Dr. Smith's Champion Hoss Hair Puller's recorded the tune in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1928 as "Going Down the River" (issued by Victor Records in 1929).
