FARMER'S REEL [2]. AKA and see "Golden Wedding Reel (1) (The)," "Richibucto Reel." Canadian, Reel. Canada, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. No relation to "Farmer's Reel (1)." Perlman (1996) states this is a very widely played "good old tune" on Prince Edward Island, and believes the tune originated in the Canadian Maritimes (though it is also found in the northeastern United States). It aappears that New Brunswick radio and TV fiddler Don Messer claimed the tune as his own composition (titled "Golden Wedding Reel").

Source for notated version: Stephen Toole (1927-1995, Green Road, Queens County, Prince Edward Island) [Perlman].

Printed sources: Perlman (The Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island), 1996; p. 48.

Recorded sources: Rounder CD 7014, Leonard McDonald - "Fiddlers of Western Prince Edward Island" (1997).
