BEAN SETTING [2]. AKA - "Bean Setters." English, Morris Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Bacon): AABB (Raven): AABBBB, x2 (Mallinson). Collected from the village of Brackley, Northamptonshire, England, where the morris dance "was always preceded by the entry of the Fool with cow's tail, bladders (for whacking other dancers), and tin containing stones which he rattled 'to scare away the birds'" (Bacon, 1974). See also note for "annotation:Bryan O'Lynn (1)"/"Planting Stick (The)" for a similar dance in Irish tradition.
