COUNTY DOWN [1]. AKA and see "Kitty in the Fog," "Kitten and the Frog (The)." Irish (originally), American; Jig. USA, southwestern Pa. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB. Bayard (1981) identifies this as one of the tunes from an indistinct but probably Irish tune family that has incorporated a variety of usually floating titles. In southwestern Pa. it was known as a martial tune. See also the related (according to Bayard, who tends to cast his nets broadly) "Stonecutter's Jig (The)," "Young Tom Ennis," "Banks of Lough Gowna," "Mug of Brown Ale (2) (The)," "Rambler from Clare (1) (The)," "One Bottle More (2)," "Ball of Ballynafeidh (The)/Humors of Ballnafeidh (The)."
