DRUNKEN WIVES OF CARLISLE. AKA and see "Gie the Mauking Mair O't." Scottish, Reel. Scotland, Lowlands. G Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCDEFG. A tune double tonic tune (based on two adjacent major chords) composed for the lowland pipes from the early-mid eighteenth century, commenting on that Lowlands town's women.
