J.L. BLATCHLEY BANTER. American, March (2/4 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. J.L. Blatchley of Port Crane, N.Y., was a veteran army musician (fifer, probably) with Co. E., 2nd N.Y. Heavy Artillery. He contributed a number of tunes to A.F. Hopkins' Amercian Veteran Fifer (1905), such as "Biddy Oats," "Nancy Hanks, "Ruth," and "Montezuma."
