LITTLE BROWN JUG JIG. American, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is credited in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), to Jas. Hand, who is elsewhere in the volume referred to as 'the Boss Jig Player'. Hand was evidently a bandleader or stage fiddler who supplied several tunes to Ryan's collection.
