MORGAN'S THOUGHT. English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in all four editions of John Young's Second Volume of the Dancing Master, published in London from 1710-1728 (albeit as "Morgin's Thought" in the first two editions of 1710 and 1714). The jig was also published by rival London publishers Walsh & Randall in The New Country Dancing Master, Second Book (1710), Walsh & Hare in their Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master, and by son John Walsh in the 1754 edition of the latter volume.
