REEL DU CANADA. AKA and see "Glise à Sherbrooke," "Big Ship (The)," "Blue Bell Polka (2)," "Bluebell Reel," "Grand Chaine (La)," "Reel de Tadoussac," "Quadrille de chez nous (1)," "Quadrille Francaise," "Reel de chez-nous (1)," "Sherbrooke Slide." French-Canadian, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was popularized in America as "Glise à Sherbrooke," although it had been recorded in Canada under a variety of titles prior to the 'Glise' name. Joseph Allard () recorded it twice, beginning in 1928 under the title "Quadrille de chez nous (1)" and, in 1945 as "Reel de Canada." See note for "annotation:Glise à Sherbrooke" for more.
