WE'LL RALLY ROUND THE FLAG. AKA - "Battle Cry of Freedom." American, Song Tune (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A popular American Civil War melody [1] espousing the Union cause from the pen of American composer George Frederick Root (1820–1895). It was so popular, in fact, that a Confederate version with different lyrics appeared during the conflict.
