WEST VIRGINIA SPECIAL. American, Reel (cut time). C Major (1st part) & G Major (2nd part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. A construct of Kanawha County, West Virginia, fiddler Clark Kessinger (1896-1975), pieced together from parts of different tunes. Recorded by him with accompaniment on guitar by his nephew Luches Kessinger (1906-1944) (recording as 'The Kessinger Brothers') on a 78 RPM for the Brunswick label.
