YOUNG ARTHUR DALY (Art óg ua dalaig). AKA and see "Wide Awake Reel." Irish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle) . AAB. "Young Arthur Daly" would appear to be a borrowing by O'Neill of a reel that goes by several titles in Boston publisher Elias Howe's publications; "Peggy Whiffle's," "Evansville (2)," "Clem Titus Jig." It may ultimately be sourced to a minstrel-era performer named Clem Titus, who contributed a few tunes to Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883). See also the related “Rat-Catcher’s Reel.”
