SADLER’S ASCENT. English, Waltz (3/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. James Sadler (1753-1828) was the first Englishman and second individual to make an ascent in a hot-air balloon in England in 1784 (he was preceded by a few weeks by a Tuscan named Vincenzo Lunardi).
