WRIGHT'S RANT. AKA and see "Piper's Son (2) (The)," “Stool of Repentance (The).” Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest appearance of this tune in print in Robert Bremner's 1757 collection. The tune also appears under this title in Aird’s Airs and Melodies, vol. 1.
