DURANG'S HORNPIPE. American, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. East Kentucky fiddler John Sayler and southwest Virginia fiddler Emmett Lundy's version differ in detail, but are linked by general melodic contour and underlying harmonic progression. Despite their differences they are recognizably the same tune.
