LADY CHARLOTTE DURHAM [2]. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Gow): AAB (Athole, McLachlan): AABB' (Kerr). Composed by Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831). Going by the date of her marriage (1799) and the date of publication of Gow's Fourth Collection (1800), we can positively date Nathaniel's composition to 1799-1800 (see note to "Annotation:Lady Charlotte Durham (1)" and "Annotation:Lady Charlotte Bruce" for details).
