SUANTVAIDHE. Irish, Air (4/4 time). G Dorian/F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune is identified in Howe as a lullaby. Howe's title, "Suantvaidhe" is perhaps a corruption of Frank Roche's title "Suantrai Ciarraighe," although the melodies differ. Indeed, suantraí is the Irish Gaelic word for lullaby.
