CORNWALLIS'S SURRENDER. American, Reel (cut time). USA, Arkansas. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Irregular in the two-measure 2nd strain. Drew Beisswenger (2008) points out similarties to "Dance All Night/Give the Fiddler a Dram (1)." Source Morrison liked tunes with historical connotations (see his "British March" which he also associated with the surrender at Yorktown), although the origins of this tune are obscure.
