MISS DR. GRANT'S MINUET FOR THE FLUTE. Scottish, Minuet (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. "Miss Dr. Grant's MInuet" was composed by Perthshire fiddler-composer biography:Daniel Dow and was printed in his Twenty Minuets and Sixteen Reels or Country Dances(c. 1775). "Miss Dr. Grant" is a name that appears in several subscribers lists in late 18th century music collections. Fiddler-composer Daniel McLaren dedicated hisCollection of Strathspey Reels &c. With a Bass for the Violoncello or Harpsichord (1794) to her, "by permission", and tunes were composed in her honor by Robert Macintosh ("Miss Dr. Grant's Reel" and ("Miss Dr. Grant's Quickstep").
