BUCKLEY'S WALK AROUND. American, "Sand Jig" (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB. A 'walk around' was a feature of the blackface minstrel show, where the troupe would walk in a circle around the stage to music, giving each member a chance to engage the audience with his performance as his turn came center stage. A transcription for fiddle is in the music manuscripts of Setauket, Long Island, painter and fiddler William Sidney Mount. It has a different second strain than that printed in Buckley's banjo tutor, according to Alan Feldman.
