X:1 T:Marry When You're Young S:John Doherty N:The C in the 4th, 8th, 12th, and 16th appears to be in between C flat and N:C sharp. Fiddlers should know what I'm talking about. The second four N:measures of each part present variations on the first four that John N:played, but he didn't necessarily play them in this order. MARRY WHEN YOU'RE YOUNG. AKA - "John Doherty's." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune is a member of a large polka and reel family with numerous titles: "Bog Road," "Box about the Fireplace," "Disappointed Coquette (The)," "Ghile Beag lé m'Anam Thú," "Molly Jones," "Shins about the Fireside (3)," "Spailpín Fánach (2) (The)," "Tom Sullivan's," "West Cork Reel."
