REEL DU VILONEUX. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). A Major ('A' part) & D Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title on LeMadeleine's 1939 recording may be a label misprint for "violoneux" (violinists), but at any rate the tune is s different one than Joseph Allard's "Gigue du Violoneux/Reel du violoneux (Le)." The opening few bars of "Reel du viloneux" use the same melodic material as "Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine (1)."
