ANDY DEJARLIS (JIG). AKA and see "Scotch Style Jig," "Tom Trainor's." Canadian, Jig (6/8 time). Canada, Manitoba. E Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A popular tune for those rare times that an E Major set is called for. The tune was composed by Manitoba fiddler biography:Andy DeJarlis who recorded it in 1969 as "Scotch Style Jig", but it has also been credited to Cape Breton fiddler Mike McDougal. The jig gained international currency in the 1990's through the playing of Cape Breton musicians. Irish musician Karen Tweed calls the tune "Tom Trainor's" after the individual she learned it from.
