"Lady Maria Keith's Stathspey" was printed on a single sheet entitled Six New Reels No. 2 issued by Edinburgh music publisher and seller Niel Stewart ("Sold by N. Stewart & Co. Music Sellers NO. 37 South Bridge"). Also on the page were the tunes "Lady Catherine Keith's Reel" and "Lady Christina Keith's Strathspey." All of them refer to family members of Scottish-Dutch aristocrat [[Wikipedia:<meta charset="UTF-8">William Keith-Falconer, 6th Earl of Kintore]] (1766-1812), who was the only sonseven daughters born to a Dutch born Englishman Anthoy Keith-Falconer, 5th Earl of Kintor and his Dutch wife, Christina Elizabeth Sighterman (d. 1809).His seven younger sisters, none of whom married, were Lady Sibella, Lady Maria, Lady Catherine, Lady Francina, Hon. Jean (who died in infancy), Lady Christiana, and Hon. Helen Keith-Falconer (who also died in infancy).
