CAMBDELMORE. AKA and see "Ballendaloch's Reel," "Gordon Castle (3)." Scottish, Strathspey. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Glen (1891) finds the melody first in print in Robert Bremner's 1757 collection. The tune was used by poet Roberts Burns for the first two versions of his song "Banks of Doon," beginning in 1791. The River Doon is in Alloway, near where Burns was born. Alexander 'King' McGlashan printed the tune as "Gordon Castle" in his c. 1781 collection.
