LOTTA'S JIG. American, "Sand Jig" (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCC. "Lotta's Jig" was composed by blackface minstrel performer and composer George H. Coes and was printed in his Coes Album of Jigs and Reels (1876). The title probably refers to variety stage songstress and dancer Lotta Crabtree, perhaps the most famous female variety performer of her era in the United States (for whom see "Lotta's").
