CALIFORNIA HORNPIPE [3]. AKA and see "Pink Eyed Lassie," Scottish, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A second "California Hornpipe" in Köhler's Violin Repository, Book 2 (1881-1885). However, this tune (unlike "California Hornpipe (2)", which was composed by James Hill) is unattributed in the book. "California Hornpipe (3)" is the same tune, printed at about the same time, as "Pink Eyed Lassie" in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), and just prior to that, as "Jack O'Lantern Reel."
