Biographical notes
FRANK McCOLLAM (1910-1973?), of Ballycastle, north County Antrim, was a bagpiper, accordion and fiddle player best known for his fiddle playing and compositions such as "Home Ruler (The)," which he played in a set with another of his hornpipe compositions, "Hangman's Noose (The)." According to Dick Glasgow, McCollam had a passion for bees, restoring old clocks and "going to the moss". He was a member of the local Ballinlea Pipe Band. He was visited by Cathal McConnell, Sean Ryan, Liam Donnelly and others.
