Irish, Double Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Gullane is a village in the Sliabh Luachra region of County Kerry. The alternate title "John Mahinny's No. 1" is called after John Mahinney Barnard of Gneevegullia, a friend of fiddler Bill "The Weaver" Murphy, father of Denis Murphy and Julia Clifford.
Source for notated version: this jig was recorded in Co. Kerry by Breandan Breathnach in November 1970 from accordion player Johnny O'Leary (Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork/Kerry border); O'Leary had the tune from Jimmy Doyle [Breathnach, Moylan].
