JUBA 'ROUND THE KETTLE OF FAT. American, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "Juba 'round the Kettle of Fat" is sourced to the repertory of Saratoga County, northern New York, fiddler Earl Eddy. Unfortunately, very little is known about Eddy, although he was held in him esteem by the older 20th century fiddlers in the region and was reputed to have had a vast repertoire. No recordings of him exist but some of his tunes have come from other regional fiddlers he influenced, chiefly Lawrence Older (Saratoga County, NY). See also "Earl Eddy's Breakdown/Favorite."
